4th World Port Security Summit

The Over 50 countries delegates met at the INTERPORTPOLICE Summit that was done in cooperation with the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) at their headquarters in London to hear leading experts discuss port security programmes and innovations. INTERPORTPOLICE's Secretary Jay Grant, Board President Joseph Lawless, and Secretary General Lim of the IMO opened the Summit.
Issues discussed included improving inter-agency cooperation, threat and vulnerability assessments, risk management, enhancing the effectiveness of access control and identity authentication, communication, cyber, and incident response. Discussion and presentations identified and promulgate resources, best practices, and future work priorities pertaining to the port security committees.

The IMO, UNDCO, INTERPOL, and INTERPORTPOLICE all discussed international cooperation and how more focus was needed addressing intergovernmental cooperation on current tactics and methods being faced by security official at ports.
